A client has asked be to build him a flash ‘game’ where the user uses sounds and places then on a time frame to create a song and then its exported as a mp3. I didn’t think this was possible so they suggested php to me…
My question to you is, can php take mp3/wav files and ‘merge’ them to create a new file.
If not does anyone know how else i could accomplish this?

    Huge thanks to everyone

Will the users record these sounds in the program too? or just use pre-created ones?

I would guess that it’s possible, and I could see it being done in Flash or Flex… I wouldn’t think PHP could do it in the user-friendly way Flash/Flex would (if at all). It would be epic, yet equally difficult.

Hi, it would be pretty much like this game except the user can download the song they create after. The sounds are provided not recorded by the user.
