Hi everyone,
I’m looking for input on what you think a standard “link to a website” icon is or should be, like how three lines means menu, and two overlapping boxes means “this link goes to another page”.
I’m building a collection of pages that is a brief summary of information for one various government office per page. One part of this page, which will look the same over 100 pages, has a couple of icons: facebook, twitter, and a link to the office’s website.
Our team considered a world but it seems outdated, a house/home doesn’t make sense, the two overlapping boxes is close, but it’s usually used with body text, not as a standalone icon.
Any ideas?
Thanks Paulie_D — a chain link is a good idea.
a globe, network, or new window icon might work as well.
