Looking for some advice from the CSS Tricks community.
Is it a wise idea to disable a JS Slider on the tablet view? The slider being used is not responsive.

You’ll notice that the first MQ disables the slider. I noticed that, when viewing the website on a tablet, the slider changing pictures caused the tablet to lag while scrolling through the page, which was a bit annoying. That was the my primary reason for disabling the slider.
Part of the issue is that the website doesn’t use a fluid design and, thus, I can’t just stick a responsive slider in there as it would look out of place, or at least I think it would.
