Searchable Maps?

  • # June 23, 2013 at 11:41 am

I’m trying to make a directory of bike shops for urbanites like me.

I love the way that Zillow.com’s searchable map works which isn’t unlike many other real estate and directory websites. Does anybody know where I would start to create a searchable map that achieves the following?
    1. Pinpoint location markers
    2. Thumbnails when a user clicks or hovers over a pinpoint location marker
    3. A list of thumbnails/excerpts for the part of the map being viewed

What about Google maps? I know you can make markers and info windows so (1) and (2) are covered. Getting a list of visible markers, not sure. I’m pretty sure that’s solvable even if their API doesn’t have any functions for that.

Seconded. Probably a little tricky but certainly doable.
