There are some sites where there is a "print-friendly" button, which eliminates extraneous comments (and even ads!). The button uses JavaScript to do it’s thing. I am really puzzled by the behavior of one machine—it just sits there & does nothing. I have unnecessarily upgraded The Java runtime even though it didn’t need it. It usually generates a separate instance of Firefox (Is it a popup?) when it does work right. Both Firefox & extensions are up to date. Does anyone have any ideas as to what can be done to remedy this situation? :?: :?

Could Javascript be disabled? I’m running Firefox on a Mac — it should be roughly the same for the Windows version — just go to Properties->Content and check that the "enable JavaScript" checkbox is checked.
