Problem with Parallax Effect

  • # October 29, 2012 at 9:10 am

    Hi !
I’ve discovered Parallax effect some days ago and I find it really cool !

I’m working on a dummy exercise to better understand the way it works and I have a problem I would like to share with you

    http://pequestickers.com.mialias.net/PARALLAX/jarallax.html

As you can see I have a background image and then, my idea is to move floating elements so they appear over the image as I use the scroll bar

The thing is that I would like to display them ONLY when they are OVER the background, and not always like now … i.e. clip the image with a kind of Mask Layer …

    Any hint? thanks!!!

Just looking around the Goog cause that’d be sweet if it works.
The “floating” elements are positioned “fixed”, which means they are taken out of the regular document flow. This means overflow:hidden; does nothing.

I see that you’re using a library. I assume the library requires the elements to be fixed positions…. maybe see if you can roll your own parallax effect?

I hope someone has more insight than I! This would be sweeeeet!
