    Anyway, I know this is one of those trends that people go a little overboard with. But I see some interesting possibilities.

    First off, I like that it draws attention to the foreground, causing the user to focus on what you dictate.

    Secondly, Due to it having less detail, I’d bet me live it saves out of photoshop at a WAAAAY smaller file size.

    Thridl, I bet depending on the photo and how blurred it is… you could make it pretty small and stretch the life out of it without a ton of negative consequences.

    What are you thoughts on the practicality of this?

    I’m not sure about the practicality question? It’s part of the design.

    Don’t pay attention to trends too much. Focus on communicating your clients vision into code. If that calls for blurred backgrounds… so be it.
