PHP Frameworks. Which one?

  • # April 17, 2013 at 5:49 am

I have an option to learn a PHP Framework choosing from these popular frameworks. I have searched online and I stumbled upon all kinds of information. So from this list, which framework do you suggest and why?

    1. Laravel.
    2. Zend.
    3. Cakephp
    4. CodeIgniter
    5. Yii

    thank you.

I guess it depends on what exactly you will be using the frameworks for:

    - size of website

    - type of website

    - functionality

    - etc

I personally use CodeIgniter and the choice is based on the above factors and more.

Is there a framework that supports small websites or big one?
    Type of website? How?
    Functionality? How?

I want to be able to know what each can achieve and why.

I have heard a lot of good things about Laravel, but my preference lies in Kohana, which is the one I’ve used the most.

I agree – Lavarel seems really good… I haven’t tried it personally but the reviews from fellow developers is positive
