New to CSS

    Hi Everyone,
I am new to CSS and just created 2 sites using CSS. I love using it and can’t wait to learn more.
I’ve explored these many CSS galleries and am so inspired and have lots questions.

    Here’s the first one…
How did this person get this image to load so quickly? I use lots’ of texture and need to use transparent .pngs that end up being very large. This person seems to know how to use a large image and gets it to load quickly.

    Thanks!

I guess that’s not a CSS question but I have lots of them too.

    Uh… Export the images at 80% quality… ?

That site took ~20 seconds to load on a 3MB/sec connection. That is not fast. The image is 622kb… that is not small.

It loads fast the second time you come to the site because you have already downloaded it.

Yup, took a super long time to load for me as well.

You’ve probably been to the site before and the image was cached.

Here are 2 articles which can help reduce the file size of pngs
