Im making my first live website for a friend of my buddy. The site is nearly done.

But now im wondering what would be best for the users considering that the site is in top 10 hits in google when searching words "kraljev hrib" (it means "King of the hill").

    My thoughts:
One option is to overrun the old site and put the new one in the same root folder on the server. – that way i could loose the hits in google etc.
The other one is to redirect the old site to new subfolder and leave the old website on. -this way i keep the current hits in search engines.

Am I complicating things or is this apropriate question?

    Thanks for help.

    Cheers,
    J

Is it for the same site? If so, the URL should be the same.

If you redirect, you’re going to lose the Google Ranking even more as Google will have nothing to index.
