Need help with CSS in WordPress theme

  • # August 5, 2012 at 12:20 pm

This is probably really simple for most people, but I have tried Firebug, read FAQs, etc. and still can’t get it right.
If you look at this site At the top of the post, you will see where the Post Title is showing an h2 tag in Firebug, however if you go to the post itself it is the Post Title shows an h1 tag.

Also if you look at the photo caption next to the photo, you will see an h2 tag, which I want, but there is a space between the Photo Caption and the Photo By section which I do not want.

On older posts such as this example there is no space between photo caption and author as I was using strong tags there.

My goal is to use search regex plugin and change all strong tags to h2 tags, but I don’t want to do that until they format properly first.

Am I about as clears as mud? The best I could do.

Any help appreciated…don’t want to go to Elance unless necessary.

Try using a soft return between the title and the “photo by”. The P tag has a margin/padding attached to it, so when the “Photo By” is it’s own paragraph, it is having the margin/padding attached.

To do a soft return, hold Shift while pressing Return (in the WordPress WYSIWYG).

If you look at the HTML of the older post, you can see that the Title and “Photo By” are all inside of one P tag. In the newer posts, they are in separate tags which is causing the gap.
