Mobile menu, slide from top, or off canvas from left?

Wondering which do folk prefer? I was all gung ho for the off canvas menu (see it here, minimise your browser: http://dbushell.github.io/Responsive-Off-Canvas-Menu/step4.html), even so far as changing my whole base WordPress starter theme. But looking at it more I find it a little bit disconcerting that content slides off to the right like that, and am thinking that top down might be better, as you can still scroll down to content even with menu open.

What do you think?

Personally I think this method rocks!
I’m 30 years old from the UK if that helps with demographics in any way.
The fact the content moves to the side lets me know it’s still there, the menu is what I am actually focusing on and I feel it sits nicely with most modern designs.
