    hi,

    unusual question :)

    when it comes to long name for a web what do you think is better or what do you prefer ?

    have this to one

    http://www.seberevoltabrno.cz/

    http://www.sebe-revolta-brno.cz/

    I am used to 1st version but never had such long one and with DASHES it is more readable

    For ease of readability and assuming that you are going for a branding then then the dashes make more sense.

    What I would say is..why not buy both? It’s not as though uncommon domain names are expensive.

    It’s not a life-changing thing or super important, but think of mobile users and their small keyboards. Adding dashes creates unnecessary complications for them. No dashes is easier for the user overall, but I do agree that dashes make things more readable.

    @Senff I see where you are coming from but in my experience mobile users don’t find sites by typing…they do it by searching or clicking existing links / bookmarks.

    My basic points is that for (in the absence of a better word) marketing / SEO purposes, the dashed version is much better.

    or have long version for DESKTOPS (keyboards)

    and short version working as “alias” redirecting to original web for those mobile users :)

    for instance : http://www.sereb.cz/ goes to => http://www.sebe-revolta-brno.cz/

    @krysak4ever I don’t think you can serve different addresses on a viewport size basis.

    I would pick the one you want as your ‘primary’ address and have the others re-direct there.

    as you say:

    **”I would pick the one you want as your ‘primary’ address and have the others re-direct there”**

    is what I meant :)
