Hi all,
I am thinking about setting up a wp site with 3 blogs on their own subdomains and I was wondering if i could install only one version of wp to handle the 3 blogs.
Basically i’ll have http://www.example.com as the domain and blog1.example.com; blog2.example.com; blog3.example.com. On the root page I would like to be able to display info from all three blogs and all the login info. I know i can install wpmu to handle all the blogs but would i be able to display latest posts from the 3 blogs on the main page? Also, would wpmu allow an user that created an user for one blog to be able to login for the others too?
Any ideas on how to structure this would be really appreciated!
Thank you,
Anton
WordPress MU accomplishes exactly that:
I’m pretty sure it enables multiple subdomains too.
I am aware of MU but from what i read it would just create separate blogs. It doesn’t seem to allow an user to have same login over many blogs and there seem to be no easy way to get the latest posts from multiple blogs and post them on the home page…
Basically, what i need functionality wise is to have it working like a normal wp but with each subdomain being a category.
Thanks,
Anton
There’s lots of options on the Codex article: http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_Multiple_Blogs

Can’t you work with a RSS reader to display the posts from the 3 blogs on the main page?
