    Hey all,

I am relatively new to wordpress / php development and I am building out my first site. I have run into a strange problem: I have my local hosting environment setup properly and have been working to develop the site. Everything is going swimmingly. Background images are showing up fine when used via css, but any time I try to insert an image somewhere on the page (i.e., social networking buttons to use for clickable links) the box where the image should be is there with a broken image symbol… I’ve checked the paths and they seem correct. I’ve tried numerous variations of the path to see if I can fix it, but to no avail. Is there something I’m missing? Is there something I’m supposed to do?

Please excuse my ignorance, I’ve tried looking elsewhere online and have yet to find a solution.

to append my question… is there a specific php call that is required when inserting an image onto a post?
