When _you_ open up a discussion you will notice that on the main forum page your discussions will have a link to the top-right saying ‘Options’.
Click that link and scroll down and and there is a check box saying ‘Mark this discussion as solved. When you click that and click save, your thread title will get the [Solved] prefix attached to it.
