Homepage Meltdown – where to place oodles of info into a very small space

  • # February 10, 2013 at 7:23 pm

A new client needed a website that didn’t remind him of a cloned site.
They had very little to offer design-wise and had no clue what they wanted.
“Just make it artsy” was the sum total information in the design brief.

With the information I gleaned from their business card (sans logo), a few hours in Photoshop, a few more hours in my text editor, I came up with this lil’ ditty…the homepage for The Falls Deli.
I’m still tweeking the “Hours of Operation” section..I may decrease the height and make the information inline like the menu..but I am not sure..

I think there are enough “toys” on the page to keep a visitor happy and visually informed.

What do you think of this mock-up?

As well, I created the tri-fold menu and logo for the establishment.
