Help! I can’t make this layout work!

    Hi,

    Still on my path to learning CSS… so I can’t make this layout work quite right.

    I’m re-purposing CSS we have from another project (done by someone else). It was a 3 column layout w/header and footer. I’m trying to make it a 1 col with header and footer and similar nav.

    You can see what is should look like at: http://www.ehydrant.com/master.jpg

    You can see what the re-purposed piece I have (for layout so far) looks like at: http://www.ehydrant.com/mine.html

    The CSS is at: http://www.ehydrant.com/css/me.css

    My issues are:

    1. the footer does not show up
    2. the outer double border has a gap between the two colors but I don’t want that
    3. using the existing CSS/<li> nav, I don’t know how to have 8 unequal length buttons and align them away from the side

    Of course I am past deadline on this, so any quick help is really appreciated. :?

    Thanks guys!

    well i would say that you code is all messed up. it looks like a plate of spaghetti. it would take far to long to tell you what is wrong without getting paid for it. You have embedded css styles and you have imported css files that are css and xhhtml which is something I have never seen before, and the stylesheet that is linked to the file you posted couldn’t be found. When asking questions about how to fix code, always post that code so the people who are going to help you don’t have to spend time tracking it down. it will give you better odds of getting the help you are seeking.

    Is there any other direction or templates someone can refer me to so I can make this happen?

    Thanks guys.

    check over at themeforest.net . they have a bunch of templates that are really cheap.

    You have this code in the head of your site

    <style type="text/css">
    <!–
    @import url("css/me.css");
    –>
    </style>

    when I looked up the me.css it had html in it. this is not css. and when I try to view the greybox/gb_styles.css
    it get the error 404 page that says not found. So since you didn’t post your code and i can’t find it all because i don’t have access to your server, there really isn’t anything I can do to help you. Check out themeforest.net
