Looking at other websites is a source of inspiration for my designs. I find, however, that most of my clients are tradespeople: plumbers, electricians, mechanics, and metalworkers. Most websites in galleries or design examples given on design websites just don’t seem to fit the hard working, dirty, sweaty image of skilled labor. Can anyone else relate to this? Where do you look for inspiration for these kinds of websites? Does anyone know of any good galleries of these kind of pages?

Physical objects mostly. I like a lot of retro 1920’s – (early) 1960’s objects. Such as fashion, typography, typewriters, packaging, machinery, cars, etc. That’s mostly where I receive my inspiration. However, I’m also inspired by Jessica Hische, Dana Tanamachi, Simon Alander, Claire Coullon and a few others.
