A quick search showed no recent discussions on the CSS3 font-smoothing property and I wanted to ask the forum about any recent experiences with it.

I’ve noticed that most of my font display issues are solved with a subtle text-shadow with font-smoothing not making much of a difference. I’ve also seen suggestions that having an opacity of .9 can smooth fonts…

    Typically, for light-on-dark text I’ll use “text-shadow: -1px -1px 1px rgba(0,0,0,0.3)”

    and for dark-on-medium text I’ll use “text-shadow: 0px 1px 1px rgba(255,255,255,0.6)”

but for dark on WHITE text nothing seems to look good (to me) any suggestions?

What font are you serving? It also depends on the OS and browser
