Font sizing in ems different in Google Chrome?

  • # October 24, 2008 at 4:08 am

So I’ve been resetting in the body with fontsize: 62.5%

I’ve been trying to get Courier to look right. Everything looks great in Firefox, Opera, Safari… and Ok in IE. But, in Google Chrome it seems to size the fonts smaller than they should be.

Is there a way around this? I prefer to design with ems rather than pixels.

If you have Chrome compare it with this page. See what I mean:

It looks like Chrome’s default font-size is smaller than 18px like the other browsers. Dave Shea brings up a good reason earlier this month that has made me consider moving back to fixed pixel sizes.
