    Hello,

This is my personal website http://preview.jhburton.co.uk/.

Please could you answer the questions

    1. Do you like the design?
    2. Is there any changes the site needs?

    I’d take a step back.

I’m guessing this is more of a fun/personal site to start with, so not the time for us to say “go study design fundamentals”, but there’s a lot of decent info online (a lot of crud too, but some folk here can offer some good stuff I’m sure) where you can learn some of the basics that will help you have some fun with your site but also learn what works better and why.

I’m sure you’ll get some more stuff from others, but here’s one I’ll offer to start with: http://www.thefireflycreative.com/News-&-Media/?id=36

You could also look at typography, and grid layouts, and colour theory… but this one seems a decent intro into a few important elements, and might get you thinking.

    Cheers.

@Deeve007, I just wanted to say thank you for the website you linked to on “Minimalist Design”, as it was really interesting and thought-provoking. I had heard the idea bounced around here and there but to read a quality “how-to” guide of sorts on it was very helpful to me in working on the next version of my portfolio site. I now have even more to think about haha
