    Hi guys,

    I have question thats a little hard to explain.

    I have my current site hosted with inmotion hosting but have bought hosting with Media Temple.

    What I want to do it deploy my new website to media temple servers and connect its DB and get it functioning perfect then when I am ready point the name servers over.

    My question is: How do I work on the Media temple site? I wanted a URL I can visit live that I can make sure it’s working.
    Is this possible? Should I rather migrate over my old site and point the name servers and work on the new site in a subdirectory?

    I think migrate over your site first, then create a subdomain to use as development at Media Temple. You have to have some active url attached to your new host to view anything.

    Thanks for the advice. Turns out it was simple to just move my site over and reset the name servers.

    Now I can work on the new deployment.
