CSS3 drop down hover sometimes getting stuck

  • # November 14, 2013 at 4:15 pm

    Hi guys,

If you would please look at the site I’m developing at: http://homeglobal.ch/ you will see the drop down menu for About Us and Our Services sometimes does not work on hover. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t which is really confusing. Do you have any ideas?

    Many thanks

I can’t seem to replicate this issue. It’s working fine for me, and the method you’re using to do it is solid.

    What browser are you using?

I can only seem to replicate it (sometimes) in the latest version of Chrome. Seems to happen more if I close all tabs/windows in chrome and then load the site in a new window. Very strange. When it doesn´t work the drop down menu’s don’t appear and the background blue rollover doesn’t work on the two links with drop down menus.

On my latest Chrome, it works fine on first page load and all subsequent.

Have you tested on any other computers or browsers? It could be a problem only for you. Does it still happen if you make a different user account in Chrome? I ask that because a new user account would simulate a “clean” Chrome installation, if you can’t get anyone else to test it for you.

Wait a few hours more and hopefully other forum members will be able to tell you if they experience the issue.

I’m not having any problems with it either, and I’m running the latest version of Chrome on Win 7 (x64). I’ve had problems like this when using Javascript to animate drop down menus, but not with pure CSS.

You might also want to try temporarily disabling all of you extensions in Chrome. There is an extension that will allow you to do this all in one click:
