    Simply depends on the browser. It’s the user’s choice whether or not they resize it.

    You can use this for Webkit browsers, I believe:

    textarea {
    resize: none;
    }

    Or you can set a max-width and max-height. That way they can’t resize it past your specified size.

    @fordinary – I never tried shifting the size of textarea with my mouse. I didn’t even know you could. However, it’s now been locked down as per Johnnyb’s suggestion

    @Glenbot3000 – thanks for the further suggestions and the compliment. Criticism might sting a little, but there is no doubt in my mind that it has changed my site for the better
