I have no idea how to plug in the cd rom. The standard port for the cable isn’t there. Anyone got any idea? I have never seen a board like this before
I would suggest referring to the manual, or the manufacturer’s support page.
yea, already been to the manual. There isn’t anything in there about it.
Have you thought about emailing Gigabyte directly?
yes, I have done all the obvious things you can do to find the answer
How old is your DVD Drive? Haven’t they been SATA for years now?
I’m pretty sure you can get an IDE to SATA hookup or vice versa. Atleast you can for external HD’s.
Decent SATA optical drives are available at reasonable prices in the UK, it’s probably time to buy new :-)

It’s a new board so i’m pretty sure its all sata..you could buy some IDE-to-SATA adapters or just buy new DVD-ROMs…
Buy some new SATA DVD. The best option.
Agreed, get rid of the big ol’ clumsy IDE cables, it’s for the best :)
