Hi everybody!
I need a CMS for my portfolio but I don’t want to ruin the pureness of my html code with tons of unnecessary tags, classes and ids.
My questions are:
Is there a CMS that doesn’t add tons of unnecessary code to my website?
Can I use WordPress without ruining my html code?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the great list, I’ll definitely take a closer look at each point of it.
Is there a CMS you prefer more than others?
I’ve already heard about Ghost, it looks very promising.
But it’s made for blogging in the first place and I don’t plan to blog.
I’m pretty good with HTML & CSS.
I can also write Javascript(jQuery) and PHP, but nothing too complex.
Yeah, Siteleaf looks very interesting. I think I’ll give it a shot.
Thanks all.

So just create a template with the HTML structure you require. Don’t use any core functions that spit out unnecessary classes/id’s or whatever. No matter what CMS you go with I don’t see this being an issue. Having said that, if you go with WordPress the only thing that might need adjusting is Walker Class for the menu.
You can go for Kentico CMS as it is easy to use and doesn’t have unnecessary code.
Every CMS has a certain amount of unnecessary code.
What’s necessary for User A is unnecessary for User B.
