Just wondering if anyone, had to redesign their web site to make it more cell phone compatible. As cell phone continue to increase it’s web capabilities.
Just wondering if anyone has done it and, did you have to completely redesign your site or just made changes to your style sheet?
Ideally you shouldn’t have to change your xhtml, because that’s the structure and it’s meant to work on many devices. I don’t have experience with this yet (one the things I have to make time for one time), but the best way you must do it with only css. You can test it with for example Opera, what got’s an option for it or with iPhoney, a small iphone-simulator :)
Many cell/mobile phones require a separate, dedicated website. Depending on which phones you wish to support, you can code in WAP, XHTML-MP, or full xhtml for the newer smart phones. I would think that most phones currently in use would accept XHTML-MP (which is a mobile-phone specific version of XHTML with fewer tags and modified usage).
