Can someone reccomend a book to learn PHP and MySQL

I want to learn the basics about using PHP and MySQL, but i don’t want a book with all this unnecessary technical language.

Like, tell me what this command does, and how to use it. Dont tell me the history of this command etc

If anybody has read a book like this or found a really useful php explanation of PHP and MySQL, preferably in the writing style as Chris’s posts, please share.

I used O’Reilly as my reference book, but most, if not all of my learning was done through Lynda, who I must say has a splendid PHP/MySQL screencast. Though, I do have to say, their Ruby on Rails screencast is grossly out of date and no longer relevant.
