Bot's registering with WordPress

Hi All,

I’m new’ish to WordPress.

I’m having trouble with Bot’s registering on my site, I thought I’d un-tick ‘anyone can register’ to stop them while i tried to stop them registering, but there still registering, is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

And any advice on what i could do to stop them would be helpful.

The site dose run Buddy Press and I’m using the same pluggin for paid registration that css tricks, I feel like I’m doing something wrong or is that just a fact of life with WordPress.

What other verification processes are you running?

Captcha, humanity-check etc.

Surely not just an email address?

just an email, but i have anyone can register turned off, i thought that would stop them…

I’ll go back to the plugin doc’s, and see if i can add some form of humanity check.
