    Hey there,

How the heck are Apple achieving this? http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/disney/tronlegacy/

If you click on the blue View Trailers drop down and click on a trailer you’ll see the video pop out and the rest of the screen dim.
The trailer’s played back in a beautiful player, it’s not QuickTime X’s default player is it?

There are nice little touches like when you hover over the video the close button appears, as do other video thumbnails below the currently playing video.

How are Apple doing this and could you help me achieve something similar?

    Thanks in advance

Looks like the .click() fucntion combined with .fadeTo() to fade everything when you click the trailer with a custom Lightbox effect to display the video. The player is probably a custom apple player so you’re not gonna get the same look with anything else you try.

As for the trailer icons appearing and disappearing when you click the tab, it’s probably another .click() fucntion combined with .fadeTo().

I’m pretty sure that is the new default Quicktime.
