Anyone ever used Impress CMS?

Just curious if anyone has tried it so far. One of my regular clients is all over this thinking it’s one of the better things he’s seen. I’m just dl’ing it now and I’ll share what I find but it might be good to know any limitations others have found too.

Impress CMS is a fork of the xoops CMS so you might want to check that out aswell, as far as I am aware there is not much difference between them and there is a level of interopalabilty.

Xoops is fairly good it is easy to customise themes and it uses smarty templating, the only downside is module development is lacking and it does not have URL re-writing built in (need to hack core files).

Good to know. I was never impressed with Xoops. This particular person seems to have an aversion to using WordPress and I’m not sure why. I’ve never EVER run into a problem that WP couldn’t quickly overcome. They had tried to use ModX for like 4 months and finally gave up on it.
