you would have to click the first color pack and see that the orange header nav does not change colors. And when i add the code that changes the colors, it changes it overall and it doesn't have to be clicked.

Try wrapping each small group of check boxes inside a div, give it a width of 100px and add float:left; for the checkboxes. There are other things to point out about your code. Your using paragraph tags for the checkbox section headings.

I think @ChrisCoyier assumed that most if not all web developers are on chrome. So i think he worked extra hard and made sure everything works for chrome but not as much for other browsers. No web developer should be on IE to begin with.

Creating a zigzag line for a border
That's actually a background image and it's not done with code. you can get a nice stitching effect with dashed border. But if you want that zigzag effect you will have to use a background-image. use this. Border:dashed 1px #000000;
