IE6 & IE7 Problems
Are you using percentages for the widths? IE6 and 7 round the number of pixels up when you use percentages, so you have to use less than 100%. EDIT: Looked at your CSS, no percentages. Hmm. Now I have to go find a computer that actually has IE6 rath…

APPLE or NORMAL notebook
Well, I have had a revelation. I worked with a neighbor's iMac earlier today, and Parallels runs Windows with incredible speed. Running a 3D mechanical CAD program without any lag in a virtual machine = easily have a window open with every web …

APPLE or NORMAL notebook
@thedoc And people running Linux are even more likely to tell you that Linux is immeasurably better. Linux people are (hypothetically) more likely to give good advice, as they most likely know a good deal about computers. In this case, I can't …

APPLE or NORMAL notebook
@thedoc It is personal preference, but, unlike your average pc, a mac can run ANY x86/x64 OS. It can run OSX, Windows, and Linux, and how do you know what you prefer if you haven't tried all three?

Web design programs.
I just like having everything in the same place for quick testing, especially when I am developing on my laptop. I don't have enough ram to run 5 or 6 web browsers at a time on my laptop, but I can run dreamweaver, IE, and firefox just fine. Th…

Web design programs.
Don't have a mac. Well, I have a 10 year old G3 iBook, but that doesn't really cut it... And neither of my 2 development systems (1 laptop, one desktop) are hackintosh compatible (I've tried 4 different distros and the official dvd wi…

Web design programs.
@OniLinkCR I personally love Dreamweaver. The code-hinting is VERY helpful, and it's nice being able to click one button and see approximately how it looks in a modern browser (at least a webkit based one, but you can just hit F12 to load up fi…

Anything Slider Help, Change Animation to Fade
Hey @chriscoyier, any chance of letting us browse the contents of that examples folder? I have no doubt there's some other cool stuff hidden away in there. One other thought, any chance of an AnythingGallery that does a random transition/anima…

There is nothing that I have found in Fireworks that I can't do faster and easier in Photoshop. IMHO, if you are going to use an image tool for design, use Photoshop.

My new blog... feedback please :)
Not about the blog, but I think that the portfolio images would look better on hover if you did, say, a half second transition.

Pure CSS3 keyboard of glory.
Why does the whole keyboard move up and down? Looks kinda weird and removing it would probably increase the framerate by quite a bit.

Good PSD to practise slicing to HTML5/CSS3
Themeforest is a pain trying to get them to accept it if it isn't a truely top notch design. I think OP just wants practice.

Good PSD to practise slicing to HTML5/CSS3
Here you go! (Three separate links, 25 psds in total. Now that I think about it, I'm gonna work on converting these too :P

Need Help for my Career !
@mukarram Yes, Code Complete is a software development book. However, much of the advice it gives applies to web development too. In fact, some of the advice is so general you could use it for essay writing tips. The book @cnwtx suggested is also e…

@Johnnyb Thanks for the tip! Yeah, I sometimes just go there and sort by all time popular. I really like this one here.

Need some suggestions.
Yeah, I want to use an svg font, but there is too little support, so I can't reasonably use that in place of a logo. @ ChristopherBurton I really like the design of the Wacom site. I also like a lot of the stuff relating to google chrome, such…

I understand that; I just really liked the "mouse clicking on logo" thing. I'm not looking at "90's" style websites for inspiration (at least not consciously). I believe I have a screenshot of what it used to look like.…

Craziest s**t you ever seen?
No, it's just that, as most of us look at these all day long, we get kinda jaded and rarely see something tat TRULY stands out. A lot of stuff on Chrome Experiments is pretty sick. BioDigital Human wins for me right now.

Need Help for my Career !
All of these things, an excellent way to learn is a temporary subscription to lynda.com for $37.50 (or $25.00 without the lesson files, but I can't really recommend that. There you can learn (x)html, css, javascript, jQuery, wordpress, php, fla…

So... Simpler? I see a lot of matte looking stuff there. That was the look I was originally going for with the rest of the site.
