I am currently redesigning my portfolio website and I need people general opinion on how wide a footer should be. My page wrap is about 900px wide, should the footer match that or extend to the edge of the browser. See this block-out: example
It really depends on the design, but given your current wire-frame, I would recommend restricting the footer to the width of the content.
