I would lower the opacity on the type in the background. less is more and subtleties really send good design into great design and right now i feel the type in the back is fighting for attention to much and sometimes winning when the visitor should be focused more on the content of your site.

i dig. its not "2.0" and that gets a big thumbs up from me :)
I also like the handwritten type stuff in the background, but it's kind of a "tweener" stage right now. I think making even more of it but then lowering the intensity of it would be cool. Then it becomes more of a texture, which is really cool. Right now my eye wants to go read that stuff, which is distracting and pulls away from your main content.
