Love the hover effect on the navigation. Website needs more color, top & bottom padding on the main content area and footer. Logo needs more creativity.
Yeah, we're working on a new logo, we'll color the nav links (and the scrollbar in chrome) according to that once we get it to look the way we want it.
Definitely support all the points Chris B has mentioned. Its awkward that the whole square for each navigation tab isn't clickable, have to click either the text or the icon within the square to get anywhere. Also the html5 logo at the bottom is a bit misleading.
I understand that it's broken English. It's just that most people say website when referring to a whole site. That's why I Need Website would have been preferrable. I might be able to find where I brainstormed to try to find a better name. I'll look into the email thing.
- The logo is too large in my opinion and the quality of it isn't very high - Although pretty cool, the navigation buttons just seem.. unprofessional in a way - Your "content" section should be centered if your page is full width and if the navigation is centered - There is too much black, I think it would look better with some more color - More graphics would be a huge improvement. The only sort of graphics are the logo and the gradients, which don't really count as a graphic.
That was all intended to be constructive criticism, I hope you didn't take any offence to any of it. You are talented don't get me wrong.
Thanks. No offense taken, I am asking for criticism, after all. -I've mentioned before that we're working on a new logo. -Would it look better if the box got wider rather then rising in 3d? -The content section is centered now. -I've mentioned before that I'm going to be adding accents based on whatever colors we decide to have in the logo. -Does the portfolio page look good? It has more images, which also adds more more color. I do kind of take pride in not using images unless I have to. Any ideas what I should add/change?
lol, this is a joke right? something's not adding up.
i look at this and i see advanced CSS affects such as box shadows, rounded borders, linear and radial gradients, scaling and transitions. you're even using @font-face for the icons. and i see conditional comments for IE fallbacks. all impressive, advanced stuff.
but they're all thrown together haphazardly to create an overall bizarrely bland website that seems to be a parody of the web 2.0 "style". it's pretty much CSS-diarrhea.
I think you need to work on the spacings, things don't seem to line up The banner's waaay to large, the navigation is differently far away from the right and the left side of the content area, there's no need for the footer to be as large as it is now.,
@jimsilverman What do you mean thrown haphazardly? How could I make it less bland? @ Arvid I can't fix the footer right now, but I will fix it once I get to one of my production computers. Once again, we are working on a new banner, it will probably be svg with conditionals to use a gif for older browsers.
In my opinion it doesn't look professional. Looks like the logo for a grungy underground nightclub, or some kind of fight club.
Also, the logo isn't centered with the rest of the page on larger resolutions. It is when the window is smaller, but when you enlarge the window it is offset to the left.
There is also too much space between the menu buttons, and I don't think it's necessary to list every different type of HTML and CSS that each developer works in the about page. That just seems ridiculous.
The new logo looks like something out of the 90's - probably would've been cool at the time, but things have moved on since then! Here's something that I whipped up quickly for a logo:
Notice that I didn't use the actual name "I Need Webpage" - it's awkward to say because, as I've mentioned, it's not proper english.
Because @TheDoc gave you a suggestion on your logo doesn't mean you should automatically accept it and use as your own (which you did with minor changes). Dark websites are not bad looking. Take time with your work, you're making very minimum changes and keep coming back for suggestions. You need inspiration other than "90's" style websites.
I understand that; I just really liked the "mouse clicking on logo" thing. I'm not looking at "90's" style websites for inspiration (at least not consciously). I believe I have a screenshot of what it used to look like. It was terrible. Regardless of how far it has to go, its come a loong way.
I only say that because you had to have gotten inspiration on something for you to choose this route in design. My very first website was dark as well and my logo was pure 3D which I still have somewhere, unfortunately. Not sure why you think you have to use gradient on just about everything? Can you post a few sites you really like so we can get a brief look of your style thinking?
By all means use the idea. My main emphasis was on the modern font.
We all had to start somewhere. Fortunately many years ago my harddrive was fried and I lost all of my old designs! Typography is no easy task - I'm not very good at it myself. Keep on looking at successful design and try to figure out why they are successful, chances are you'll start to see the patterns and be able to emulate them.
Yeah, I want to use an svg font, but there is too little support, so I can't reasonably use that in place of a logo.
@ ChristopherBurton I really like the design of the Wacom site. I also like a lot of the stuff relating to google chrome, such as the download page. I like the design of gmail.
Whenever I'm short on inspiration for a project I take a few minutes to browse through deviantart. It usually get my creative juices flowing again.
Maybe have a think about who you're aiming the site at, and what kind of impression you're trying to create. And then design it's aesthetic accordingly.
What could be better, design-wise? All suggestions welcome.

If you're going after an English market, I don't think 'I Need Webpage' works very well. It should be 'I Need a Webpage' or 'I Need a Website'.
You shouldn't go 100% width. I have a large monitor and it makes the website waaaay too wide. I'd look into media-queries and max-width.
The Contact page should have an alternative option to IRC chat (of which the majority of people coming to your website will not know how to use).
Re: Email link on the Contact page - set up an interactive form instead.

The whole site feels dark and kind of dated.
Hope those points help.

wasn't centering it.
Still working on a 2nd new logo.
Have a look through here for inspiration: http://logopond.com/

Thanks for the tip! Yeah, I sometimes just go there and sort by all time popular. I really like this one here.
