All i can say is, (we need to wait like 4 years till its fully supported =/ )

I really can't wait. CSS really needs variables. It's a web language dammit, it should act like one! :D
If you literally can't wait though, you can always do it server-side with something like PHP:

When it's fully supported by all used browsers (especially the browsers for mainstream users) it'll be a blast. Then you can have a variables.css and define all colours 'n other stuff there. I could get used to be working on a config.css 8-)
