A friend of mine is on a board for the DSO (Detroit Symphony Orchestra) and she was burdened with the responsibility of the website for the Educational Concert Series, so i offered to do it for her.
A personal pet peeve of mine - one that a lot of other developers would agree makes no sense LOL - is the neighboring mix of rounded and sharp corners. I think if you stuck with the sharp corners, lightened the borders on the content area, dropped the drop shadow, and added a little variation to the fonts that you used, it would be a great setup.
Just an idea. It looks to be the start of a very clean design, though. :D
I think I'd be nice if those navigation photos provided some more visual feedback of the current navigation when you selected them. Like maybe the photo for the current navigation goes color?

Totally agree with that. Choose for sharp or round, but better don't use both in the way you do it ;) But I like the clean, sharp make-up :)
