I did this site for a friend. She is a teacher. She designed the site, I just put it online. I have been using what I have been learning about css to make changes to the site. Check it out and let me know what you think I can do to make it better.
Seems "right out of the 90's" to me. For one thing, it's table-based. Perhaps you could set about re-doing it in CSS and improving it's design as you go. Based on this other site you wanted feedback on, I'm sure you have what it takes to "modernize" the design :D
