That's an interesting typeface. It works well with the boxed version of the logo (although I would personally lose the shadow).

@JanMense Why don't you design something that you like and not what everyone else prefers? With saying that, as another designer's point of view, I think what you initially created seemed very minimal. In the sense that you weren't giving much of an effort. It comes off like you're just making random things and wanting people to tell you if it's good enough, as if you're questioning your own ability.

Here is a piece of inspiration that John Passafiume had lettered and made into a typeface. It's something close to what you're trying to do.

I'm impressed.

Oh! now I see the J. I thought you had dropped it, but this is much better. Great use of negative space.
