I work in a university and we have various touch screens monitors around the campus. We are wanting to use them as information points for students, which contains content such as floor-plans, timetable information, contact details for academics, etc...
As the touch-screens are only for internal use, and we can run them on any browser we choose. Therefore we could do some interesting things with using HTML5 and CSS3 without any cross-browser compatability issues.
The only requirement is that the content on the touch-screens can be updated by various members of staff, so I'm presuming a CMS would be the best way forward.
I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts on how they would approach a job like this. How would you go about creating a Touch-Screen mini site?
I've never actually thought of touchscreen computers, only phones and tablets so I'd be curious to hear how this works out I think you could start off work Wordpress and the starkers theme then add in jQuery UI for some nice touch effects
